New Year, New Me

I hope you all made it though the New Year safely. Have you made any New Years Resolutions? Those dreaded things we feel obligated to make in order to improve ourselves, but never end up keeping.

We are pushed to do it with mainstream media and advertising. Notice that all the workout clothes and fitness DVDS, even gym memberships are on sale.

How are you going to make this year’s resolution stick?

But this isn’t about you. It’s about me. New year, new me. My goal this year is to be a better business person than I was last year. That means reviewing what has been done and did or didn’t work. I want to become more organized than I was last year. Hey, I organized my bathroom closet and drawers yesterday with my son. That’s a step in the right direction.

I want to offer my customers more options for their planners. Wait – you already offer custom planner pages – how many more options can you have? I want to offer printables – templates already created and just waiting to be downloaded. There is so much I have learned this year in the planner world and much, much more out there to learn.

One inconsistency I have is that I don’t post nearly enough to my FB groups and pages. I’m a lurker on my own page. No more. I’m going to become involved.

How is this resolution different from any other? Well, first, and I’ll deep dive into this tomorrow, is that I’m writing it down. Writing down a resolution/goal makes it concrete. Well, more concrete than an idea in your head that just bounces around, then gets stuck in traffic somewhere around the hypothalamus. If only I had a place to write down my ideas?

Oh wait, I do. My planner. This blog. My goal/resolution is now concrete and I can start working on making it a reality.

So, I invite you to join me and comment with your resolution below. Make your idea concrete.

Until tomorrow-
